I'm going to my first formula 1 race in November and I don't think I can even contain my excitement. I'm in the process of buying my grandstand tickets right now but i've run into an issue. Where do I sit? I'm looking into the grandstand seats priced as $374 which includes turns: 3, 4, 5, 9, and 11E. Does anyone who went to last years race have any advice on where to sit?

the grandstands right at turn 5 are nice. You get clear audio of the annoucers, a montior to watch the race, a sweet view or turns 3,4,5, you also get a view of turn 12 (passing!). Bonus is the restrooms are right behind you plus all the awesome food.

I sat in turn 15 when I was there, didn't get to see much of the rest of the track. I would recommend one of the earlier turns, there is a ton of action in turn 1 and 12-15/16 but not as much passing through the rest. The S's are fast and I presume fairly interesting even if there isn't a lot of passing.

Different Grand Prix, so not exactly applicable advice, but here goes anyways. I went to the Budapest GP last year and after much deliberation after which tickets I'd buy, I ended up purchasing the cheapest (standing room, on the grassy hill). This turned out to be the winning combo, as we were able to arrive late, and just stand at the top of the hill, and since I'm tall, we had the most amazing view of the entire starting grid and the last 6-8 pit boxes. Once the race finished we watched the award ceremony from the grand stands.

Of the seats you're looking at, I'd go for turns 4 or 5.
there will be food nearby, there's a pedestrian bridge nearby to get over towards the grand plaza, and the esses are a lot of fun to watch.
you'll also be a short walk from the biergarten at turn 7, which was CRAZY last year.

if you search on youtube, you can fine video from any turn on the circuit I'm sure.
I've done turn 12 the last two years and enjoyed it. Will try turn 9 this year.

3, 4, or 5, although I've had seats both races so far and only sat in them for qualifying. General Admission is just better for seeing the whole track, personally.

I have always advicated for GA tickets, because you can go truly anywhere, and get better angles then any of the grandstands. Just my personal opinion though

I was happy with GA two years ago, and that's what we got again.

We had GA and chose to sit near 9 two years ago - thought it was a pretty nice spot.

Same, but didn't pay for official parking. I really want to go and camp out sometime!

Yeah—we were in five for the first year. That complex is fun, especially if GT3 Cup comes back as a support race.
11 has a view of...11. Oh, and cars coming down the hill to 11. It's the slowest point on the track and should make for some good passes, though.
